LAKES DISTRICT MUSLIM COMMUNITY AT A GLANCE
A Distinct Identity
We are a small Muslim community located in the beautiful Lakes District of New Zealand. Maz Islamic Education Center (MIEC) was established in March 2020. Our aim is to be a focal point where our community can gather for the daily prayers and also provide Islamic education.
Our center also offers information to anyone who is interested to know more about Islam. We have FREE Qurans and a wide variety of books and pamphlets on Islam.

DAILY PRAYERS
Reinforcing our Commitment to Allah
Open 7 days a week for 5 Daily Prayers (Fajr to Isha). Please check our facebook for prayer times. Everyone is welcome to attend.
EDUCATION
One Step at a Time
Classes for kids (age 5 to 9 years) - learn arabic alphabet, Quran recitation, how to perform your Salah (prayers), story telling, memorizing the Quran.
Classes for teenagers (10 years+) - quran recitation, tajweed, performing Salah (prayers), memorizing the Quran.

Community Engagement
Everyone is most welcome to contact and visit the Centre. Please contact us via email or the phone number listed below. There will also be someone at the Centre between 1pm to 6pm daily. FREE books and Quran (english translation) available.
We send down the Quran as a healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss.
